James Travis Collins

Mr. Collins,78, went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2026. Mr. Collins was born on August 30, 1947 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Gladys Mae Brown and W.O Collins. He attended high school at Jefferson County High where he graduated in 1966 and went into the United States Army until 1972 with the rank of staff sergeant. He then began what would be a lifelong career in sales of building supplies and materials until he retired in 2009

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christine Horne and Maxine Rodgers and one brother, Henry Joseph "Buddy" Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Martin Collins, a son Ashley Collins and a daughter Leslea Manning, all of Lloyd, Florida. Four grandchildren, Madison Brock of Cairo, Georgia, Aubrey Klawitter of Mountain View, Idaho, Tyler Manning of Tifton, Georgia and Gabe Thornton of Tallahassee, Florida. He was papa to six great grandchildren, one of which, Brighton Brock, was his best friend and a little buddy. Carolyn, Ashley, Leslea and Brighton.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on March 21, 2026 at Indian Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Roberts presiding. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. and a service will follow.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his great grandson via cash app or other forms of payment. Contact family for details.
