Jimmie Hills Obituary

Jimmie Lee Hills was born May 27, 1949, in Monticello, Fla., to the Late Ned Hill, Sr. and Arneter Williams Hill.  He was educated in Jefferson County Schools and later moved to Miami and graduated from Miami Northwestern High.  He attended Miami-Dade Community and graduated from Edwards Waters College in Jacksonville and earned a Theology Degree. 
 He was converted at an early age and joined New Bethel A.M.E. Church and later was ordained an Itinerate Elder in the Florida Conference and pastored at a few churches and in the 6th Episcopal District (Georgia). He served in the United States Army as an INF SP4 and honorably discharged in 1975. He was a Disabled Veteran.  He is a member of Jefferson County VFW Post 251 and was a member of Solomon Lodge #6.
 To cherish his memory, he leaves three brothers:  Ned Hill, Jr. (Carolyn) of Tallahassee, Albert Hill (Jackie) of Miami, Robert "Bobby" Hill of Monticello; four sisters, Patricia Hill Gallon of Tallahassee, Carolyn Hill Gaten of Jacksonville, Jacquelyn Hill Harvey of Monticello and Shirley Hill Shields (Eric) of Tallahassee; three children, Lakisha Shuntell Hills of Miami, Toddria Ball of Tallahassee and Rodney Hills of Monticello; godchildren, Miranda Marable and LaToya Marable; grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of sorrowing friends.
The caring professionals of Hagan Funeral Service, (850) 997-1300, are in charge of the arrangements. Public visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at 4 p.m., Wake at 5-7 p.m. at Hagan Funeral Service, located at 175 North Railroad St. inMonticello. Funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at 9 a.m. at New Bethel AME Church Ashville Hwy. with Military Honor Service and interment at 12 Noon at Tallahassee National Cemetry.
