Charles Covenah Obituary

Mr. Charles Edward Covenah, 82 passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 in Springfield with his wife Barbara at his side after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Swainsboro the son of W.D. Covenah and Myrtle Odum Covenah. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Brown Covenah; his daughter, Missy Covenah Hill; sister, Rebekah Covenah; and brothers, Dorsey Covenah and Roy Covenah.
He graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in 1959. He attended Southern Technical College in Marietta and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an engineer and retired from Florida FPL in Melbourne, Florida.
He was a member of the Melbourne United Methodist Church in Melbourne. He enjoyed spending time with family, his wife, son and daughter, and his three grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Martin Covenah of Springfield; his son, Derek Covenah of Melbourne; grandsons, Austin Covenah of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mason Covenah of Atlanta and Shane Hill of Melbourne; son-in-law, Michael Hill of Melbourne; and extended family; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Many thanks to the doctors, caregivers and private care that helped Charles over the years in Melbourne and Springfield, plus Avid Home Care in Melbourne and Golden Hours in Springfield friends, family, pastors, and church families.
Funeral services were conducted Sept. 20, 2022 in the Effingham Chapel of Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Melbourne.
