Mary Mauck Obituary

Mary Margaret Mauck passed away on November 2, 2025, after a long bout with Parkinson's Plus. Mary was born in Manhattan in 1939 to Edward and Mary Duff. She was raised in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Queens College in Chemistry. She eventually ventured on a trip to San Francisco with her girlfriends and decided to stay. She met & married her husband Andrew in 1964, and after several years in the Bay Area, moved to Elk Grove where she spent the rest of her life. She stayed home with her daughters during their childhood and was an active volunteer in their schools, organizations and sports. She then went on to a successful career in insurance at State Fund where her fairness, organization and efficiency were legendary. In her free time, she became an avid tennis player and bowler. After retiring, she spent many years delivering meals to home-bound seniors and volunteering at the hospital. She took time to enjoy herself by visiting with her family, flower gardening, attending Mass, planning trips, and traveling the world with her husband and close friends. To the delight of her family, even surrounded by fields for 50 years, she always remained a New Yorker. Mary was an intelligent, no-nonsense woman who will be remembered for her Pollyanna attitude, honesty, laughter, and ready smile. She endured her final years with inspiring strength and grace as she stoically carried her cross. Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years, Andrew Mauck, her children: Judy Peck, Kathleen Hardin, Carolyn and Shaun Immeker; her sister Catherine 'Pat' McGee; plus, nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She will be missed by all that love her.
