Bert Struck Obituary

Bert H. Struck, 92, of Belvidere, formerly of Burlington, IL and Janesville, WI, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

He was born on the family farm in Burlington on November 8, 1914, the son of Bert and Emma (Huehl) Struck. Bert married Mildred L. Davis on June 20, 1942 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington. Bert farmed in the Burlington area for many years and he also had worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable in Sycamore. They moved to Janesville, Wisconsin in 1993, and recently moved to Belvidere in 2006 to be near his family.

Bert was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Burlington.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; four children, Linda (Paul) Sneideratus of Birmingham, MI, Lana (Dennis) Seyller of Elgin, Lorna (Robert) Springate of Belvidere and Randall (Susan) Struck of Watertown, WI; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanette Hughes of Elgin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bert Jr. "Butch"; granddaughter, Jamie Simpson; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with Pastor Howard Gleason of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation burial will be held in the Burlington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 12:00 noon to the 1:00 P.M. service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the American Lung Assn.
