Jeffrey Malecek Obituary
He was born in Mattoon, IL on May 17, 1971. Jeff was a life long resident of the Dundee area. He was a 1989 graduate of Dundee Crown High School and a 1993 graduate of Bradley University. Jeff was employed as an Insurance Underwriter for Traveler's Insurance. He was an avid outdoors man. Jeff enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, skiing and cycling.
Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey C. and Janet M. (Tejcek) Malecek of Sleepy Hollow; his sister, Jennifer (Carlos) Betancourt of South Elgin; his nephew, Jacob; and niece, Jasmin. Jeff is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gloria Malecek of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his maternal grandmother, Libbie Tejcek of Higgins Lake, Michigan; and countless friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James L. Tejcek.
A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Noon in the West Ridge Community Church, 3300 Encounter Lane in Elgin (www.westridgechurch.net) Pastor Darren Sloniger, will officiate. Jeff's family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made either to the West Ridge Community Church or the American Cancer Society. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.

Jeff was a very nice young man.
He was friends with my daughter from Kindergarten, through high school. There friendship was very special.
So glad I knew him. He came to our house for Birthday parties.
He and my daughter took Driver’s Education together.

The world will not be as kind without Jeff in it. He was admired for his "cool" nature and easy-going presence by so many of his peers. Although friends drift, we remember the peaceful and comfortable way we felt when around Jeff. Sincerest of prayers and strength to Jeff's family.
