Mabel A. Hansen

Mabel Alma Hansen Mabel Alma Hansen, 102, of Phillips, WI died at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home on August 21, 2010 under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice Care. Mabel was born July 9, 1908 in Elgin, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Bartelt) Hintt. She attended Ellis Business College in 1923. She retired from Church of the Brethren Offices in 1982. Mabel was a life long member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school and held a variety of positions on the church council. She was a PTA President of Garfield and Wing Schools, a volunteer at Provena St. Joseph's Hospital, Elgin Historical Society and a member of the Elgin's Women Guild. Mabel resided in Elgin all her life until moving at the age of 100 to Phillips, WI. Her family was the love her life. Mabel is survived by 2 daughters; Arlene Diekman of Highland, IN and Carol (George) Hipple of Phillips, WI. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren and 2 daughters-in-law; Vicky Hansen and Maxine Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Robert, Jerry, Harold and James; brother, Alfred and sister Laura; son-in-law Robert Diekman and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will follow in Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of services in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Elgin or to the First Presbyterian Church of Phillips, WI.
