Marion E. Cornier

Marion E. (Streit) Cornier, 94, of St. Charles, IL and Gilbert, AZ passed away on February 12, 2022 in Arizona. She was born on March 7, 1927 in Elgin, IL to Peter and Lillian (Kautz) Streit.

She was raised along with her 10 brothers and sisters on farms in the area around Pingree Grove, Maple Park and Elgin.

While working at St. Charles Manufacturing and Geneva Modern Kitchens she met her beloved, Joseph Cornier, and they were married at St. Patrick Church in 1946. They moved to Chicago in 1949 and began raising their family. In 1965 they returned to St. Charles. She worked at Cetron Electronics in Geneva and at Richardson Electronics until her retirement in 1987. In 2012 Marion relocated to Arizona permanently.

She is survived by sister Betty (Edward) Van Broeck, brother Walter (Margene) Streit, son Donald (Molly) of Pilot Hill, CA, daughter Patti Blair (Michael) of Queen Creek, AZ and daughter Debbie Riedle (John) of Elgin, IL; granddaughter, Jessica (James) Parsons; grandchildren, Alexandra, Angela, Anna and Christopher Riedle; great-grandchildren Bryson and Brianna Parsons and many more dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, and siblings, Franklin Streit, Raymond Streit, Lillian "June" Gondos, Doris Marvin, Dorothy Hamilton, Harold "Luke" Streit, Geraldine Carty and Howard Streit.



Marion had many lifelong friendships and was a supportive sister, devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress, loved doing needlework, jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She was an enthusiastic cheerleader for all her grandkids sporting events and activities. She was always ready to go anywhere and treated every person she met like her best friend.

Visitation is scheduled at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles, IL on Friday, February 25 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Saturday, February 26, followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Downtown Church in St. Charles, IL. At 10:30 A.M.
