Wesley Dale Roswold

1934 - 2021

Wesley Dale Roswold, 86 of Elgin, passed away on June 1, 2021. He was born on September 3, 1934 in Morris, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Edith (Tesdale) Roswold. He married his "one and only," Joyce Irene Lancaster on November 6, 1953. Wesley was a mechanical engineer and retired from Indak Manufacturing. He held several patents and loved his work. He and Joyce built their home as a team and enjoyed spending time working in the yard and gardening. Wesley was a car fan and loved driving his vintage MGB. Over the years, he did some backpacking in the Boundary Waters, enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles and tinkered on projects around the home. His dogs, Shadow and beloved Akira both held special places in his heart. Wesley also served in the United States Army. Wes is survived by his daughters, Peggy (Rodney) Heimann and Judy (Gene) Panek both of Rockford; grandchildren, Sara Nolte, Laura (Brian) Diveley, Megan Camper; great grand-children, Logan, Clara, Kaden; siblings, Marian Schiable, Robert Roswold, Paul Roswold and lifelong friend, Lucas Harriss. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce, parents Thomas and Edith, and Sister Jane Gilmore. Cremation rights have been accorded with arrangements entrusted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory.
