William Repetto Obituary

William A. Repetto "Hap" William A. "Hap" Repetto, 87 of Elgin, formerly a 42 year resident of Carpentersville passed away Wednesday evening October 14, 2009 at Sherman Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on March 1, 1922 in Chicago the son of Leonard J. and Bernice W. (nee Taylor) Repetto. On October 30, 1943 also in Chicago he married Lyllis M. Ward. Hap was a WWII US Navy veteran 1942-45 serving on the USS Iowa Battleship and received eight Battle Stars. He was a foreman with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 18 years. The Carpentersville Building, and Zoning Enforcement Officer for 18 years and retired in 1985. A Charter member of Carpentersville VFW Post 5915. One who cherished his 1979 red classic Thunderbird and his pet parakeet "Lucky". He was happiest when the family was gathered around him, listening to his "war stories" and watching how much his family had grown. Hap is survived by five children, Donna (Gerry) Freitag of Crystal Lake, Patricia Butler and Gary Teel of Olyphant, PA, Pamela (David) Accurso of East Dundee, Cynthia (Philip) Maxstadt of St. Charles and Michael Repetto of Bartlett; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lyllis of 58 years; and a son-in-law, Philip Butler. Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 17, 2009, in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment with full military honors will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

There were some happy times together with fond memories of playing basketball in the driveway coupled with fun filled family gatherings. Those times have been missed, but the memories are warm. Our prayers have been with the family and Hap these past few weeks. Our sincere condolences.
