Jerome Edward "Jerry" Hendrickson

1944 - 2025

Jerry returned to God on December 6, 2025 at the age of 81.

Born on January 30, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN, to parents Jerome Edward and Helen Ryan Hendrickson.

Jerry moved from Minneapolis to Richfield at age 6 and attended St. Peter's Catholic school. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School '62, St. Mary's College '67 and St. Thomas University '69, earning an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a graduate degree in Teaching and Education. After his freshman year at St. Mary's College, Jay entered the Christian Brothers and after graduation taught with the Brothers at DeLaSalle. He left the Christian Brothers in 1970 and began teaching at Regina High School.

Jerry found the love of his life when Patricia "Pat" Quinn recruited him for a youth minister position at Immaculate Conception Parish in Lino Lakes. He quickly found every opportunity to spend time with Pat, eventually winning her heart with his persistent efforts and attention. Their wedding was celebrated at St. Andrew's Catholic Church on May 31, 1980. Their loving devotion to each other was steadfast and heartfelt.

Jerry had a twinkle in his eye, sparked by his mischievous nature and loving heart. He was fondly called Uncle Jay by his many nieces and nephews whom he lovingly nicknamed "Peanut." Jerry was a gentle soul who was eternally curious and infinitely generous. He was ready whenever and wherever needed; always available for friends and family. Jerry will be remembered for his earnest interest and encouragement, especially his big smiles and frequent exclamations of "that's just great!"

Jerry was a member of St. Andrew's Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He was employed as a teacher, cab driver, religious coordinator, and tax consultant; truly a lifelong learner.

Jerry is survived by his wife Patricia, and sister Mary (John) Kelly, sister-in-law Carole (Marvin) Arneson, brother-in-law Mick Hawkins and many generations of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Helen Hendrickson, and sister Elizabeth "Beth" Hawkins.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, December 26, 2025 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Visitation will be an hour prior.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dare's Funeral Home.
