Alan R. Stemm, 87, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away with his family by his side on Oct. 24, 2025.
He was born in Elkhart, Indiana, to Richard and Gladys Stemm. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1956, served in the Army, and married Joan E. Miller on Aug. 6, 1961. In 1964 he got a job with Sandia National Labs as an electrical engineer and moved to Albuquerque. He retired from Sandia in 2003.
Alan has long been an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, James and Michael; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Denis; and a sister, Joan. He will be buried in Rice Cemetery in Elkhart with a service to be held at a later date.
