It is with deep sorrow our family announces the passing of David Lee Overholt of Bristol, Indiana, on Oct. 3, 2021. He was 75 years old.
David was a farmer, a cowboy and an entrepreneur. He was a traveler and he loved to work, because in his heart he was a restless man who was always looking for the next big project, the next adventure.
David was generous. He never hesitated to take in those who had fallen on hard times, be it a person or an animal. He helped so many over the years.
He loved his dogs and his horses. He loved his family.
David will forever be remembered and missed by his loving wife Lynda; daughter Shelli; sons Davie, Scott and Zach; grandchildren Jason, Zoe, Tanner, Carter, Pepper, and Paisley; stepchildren Dustin and Elsie Miller of Goshen and their children Lauren, Katelyn and Logan, as well as stepchild Jonelle Williams and her children Haley Miller and Emma Hargrove. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister Sharon Paskell. David was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Bessie as well as his brother Howard and sister Sandy Wing.
"I farmed the land,
I tramped the wood,
These are things I understood.
No grand schemes, they passed me by.
I knew the brook, the hills, the sky.
To hunt a bird, to wet a line,
Gifts from God, so good and fine.
Friend and kin, I loved them so;
Although I'm gone, I'm sure they know.
I'm now at peace, life's battle done,
I've faced the foe and I have won."

Dave, I wish I could've told you how much you mean to me. I've never been great with expressing or showing my feelings but I love you Dave. There's no one on this planet like him. Being on the farm with him and my aunt Lyn was a blessing. This man was well respected and he deserved every bit of it. As a young boy, I remember how hard Dave worked and how much he truly loved and cared for his family. I used to think he never slept and was some sort of superhero lol. I'll forever be greatful for Oklahoma, the time he spent to teach me anything on the farm and in the arena, and just having him in my life. I'll never forget you Dave. Any man would have been greatful and blessed to have met you. You are missed beyond all measure...

I'm saddened with the news of David's passing. My prayers go out to the family. I didn't know this gentleman very well,just from a work setting. He always wore a smile when he came to my work place. Rest in peace Dave.
