Eddie L. Beck, 87, of Nappanee, Indiana, went to Heaven at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2024, at Center for Hospice Care, Esther House, Elkhart, Indiana.
He was born on April 27, 1937, in Wakarusa, Indiana, to Elon and Ocala (Weldy) Beck. He was a 1955 Wakarusa High School graduate and he lived his entire life in the Wakarusa and Nappanee area. On Oct. 24, 1959, he married Diana Yunker at the Jamestown United Methodist Church in Jimtown.
Eddie worked as a tool and die maker; he was the co-owner of Star Tool and Die in Elkhart, retiring in 2012.
Eddie enjoyed antiquing with his wife and fishing with his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of NorthWood Athletics and enjoyed cheering on his children and grandchildren in their various endeavors. He was also a fan of Notre Dame football and basketball. Most of all, Eddie loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Diana Beck of Nappanee; four daughters: Laurie (Jim) Sumpter of Nappanee, Stephanie (Julie Koebcke) Beck of Remington, Indiana, Melissa (Todd) Cleveland of Nappanee, and Heather (Wes) Bogan of Nappanee; nine grandchildren: Phil (Brittany) Sumpter, Amanda (Daric) Stump, Adison Koebcke, Brooke Koebcke, Delaney Koebcke, Blake (Marissa) Cleveland, Tanner (Kylie) Cleveland, Mason Bogan and Ean Bogan; seven great-grandchildren: Ellie Reynolds, Jaxon Sumpter, Jagger Sumpter, Leah Stump, Callen Stump, Colton Cleveland, and Beckett Cleveland; two brothers, Donnie (Janeen) Beck of Florida and Jerry (Linda) Beck of Granger, Indiana. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda Dudley and Carolyn Wenger.
Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in Olive East Cemetery, Elkhart, Indiana.
Memorial contributions in Eddie's name can be given to NorthWood Baseball, in care of NorthWood Athletic Department.

Condolences to the entire Beck family. I worked with Eddie at Star Machine.
I remember telling him who my Grandmother was, who lived in Wakarusa, and him telling me how she took out one of their shrubs, something she failed to tell anyone in the family.
