Edward J. Bollero Jr., 68, of Bristol, Indiana, passed to his rest on Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Edward was born on Aug. 29, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Edward J. and Albena K. "Bena" (Manfredi) Bollero Sr., who preceded him in death.
Ed attended St. Vincent School, Riverview, and graduated from Elkhart High School. After high school, he received a degree in construction management from Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. Ed was a well-respected businessman within the modular construction industry for many years, where he traveled throughout the United States. Throughout his career Ed managed to visit every state in America, except Alaska.
On May 31, 1986, Ed married the former Karen M. Koscielny. Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Karen M. Bollero, and their children, Julie N. Bollero, Tempe, Ariz., Kyle E. Bollero, Bristol, Alex J. Bollero and Anthony T. Bollero, Indianapolis. He is also survived by his grandson, Luka E. Bollero; brother Steven L. Bollero; and two sisters, Susan (Richard) Stack and Barbara (Paul) Simeri; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Ed was a drummer and shared his love of Classic Rock 'n' Roll music with everyone he met. He had quite the vinyl record collection, which he played for his family on his concert-size speakers. Ed was passionate about sharing his family history with his children, and frequently told stories about working at his father's restaurant, "Joe N' Eddies," his trip to Italy with his father and brother, Steve, or his camping and fishing trips with his childhood friends, "the Bushmen." Ed and Karen owned a lake cottage on Long Lake in Union, Michigan, for many years, where the family made many special memories. Spending time with his wife, children, family and friends brought Ed so much joy. He was a loyal husband, father, brother and friend, and will be missed by many.
Friends may visit with Ed's family on Monday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The funeral mass will be officiated by the Rev. Robert VanKempen and will begin at 11 a.m., with one hour of visitation prior, on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
