CLAYTON, N.C. - Guy L. Shepherd, 54, passed away May 15, 2021, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
He was born Oct. 11, 1966, in Goshen, Indiana, and lived most of his life in the Elkhart area. A skilled welder, Guy worked 23 years at Utilimaster. Six years ago he and his wife moved to Clayton, North Carolina, working in the RV industry as an experienced serviceman.
Left to hold cherished memories are his wife Gayle; mother Janice Burdine of Natural Bridge, Virginia; sons Nicolas (Amber) and Brandon (Amanda) of Indiana and their families; half-brothers Rich (Rikki) and Jason and (Liz) of Wyoming; step-daughter Arica of Indiana; eight grandchildren; and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Guy was predeceased by his father, Bob Shepheard; grandparents George and Raetta Shepherd, and Lloyd and Ruth Mishler; and father-in-law William Russell.
Married March 18, 1994, Guy and Gayle spent many happy hours fishing at their favorite lake in southern Michigan. Not only passionate about fishing, Guy also loved mushroom hunting, NASCAR (Denny Hamlin), ham radio, and the color blue. Guy's outgoing personality formed strong friendships. His readiness to help someone when needed knew no limits.
A wonderful husband and son a true friend - all that and more describes Guy. He will always be loved and missed by his family, many friends and beloved dogs.

Gayle, I'm so shocked and in complete disbelief that Guy ,that sweet, full of life man that I worked and partied and fished with, the only real friend I had in Elkhart died before me. No way that was supposed to happen. I am so sorry for your loss Galye.
