Josephine M. Bozzo, 82, of Elkhart passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.

Josephine was born on March 12, 1939, to Albert and Virginia Bozzo in Elkhart, Indiana.

Jo graduated from Elkhart Central High School Class of 1957. She retired as a secretary from Miles Laboratories/Bayer Corp. She enjoyed listing to good music, traveling to fun places, bowling and golfing with her friends, and dancing. She would enjoy catching up with her friends every Wednesday for lunch. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends.

Jo is survived by her brother, Jerry A. Bozzo of Elkhart, brother-in-law Santo DeRose of Toronto, Canada; sister-in-law Anna Marie Bozzo of Rochester, Indiana; her nieces and nephews, Palmo (Marianna) DeRose, Theresa (Joe) Valente, twins James (Lena) DeRose and Kathy (Gary) Ingwersen, Mary Jean (Frank) Marrelli, Joseph (Anna) DeRose, Albert James Bozzo and Anthony Albert Bozzo; 14 great-nieces and -nephews and four great-great-nieces and -nephews. Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elizabeth DeRose, and her brother, Robert L. Bozzo.

Friends may visit with family from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 56514 where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1331 N. Main St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with visitation one hour before mass. Father Jason Frieburger will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
