Lawrence S. "Larry" Hite, 77, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. Larry was born Oct. 28, 1944, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Ralph and Orpha (Nusbaum) Hite.
On Aug. 8, 1970, he married Sandra K. Higgins. She survives along with one niece, Emily Hite of South Bend, one nephew, Ken C. "Cliff" Hite of Osceola, and a sister-in-law, Haydee Hite of Osceola. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Hite.
Larry served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and received an honorable discharge. Larry graduated from high school and received a B.S. Degree in Accounting from IUSB. He attended the Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed boating and fishing. Larry was employed from 1968 to 1994 at Bayer as an accountant and from 1998 to 2006 as a controller at J.A. Wagner Construction, retiring in 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor John Hogsett from Faith United Methodist Church will render the service and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Mission or the Elkhart County Humane Society.

Larry was a client and became a friend at my detailing shop here in Elkhart. A great man of faith we had many conversations about God, cars and life. I´ll miss my times with him. Sorry for your loss and your family will be in our prayers
