Nedra B. Stauffer, 104, of Elkhart died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law.

She was born in Ligonier on Oct. 25, 1917, to the late Price and Margaret (Nicholas) Chiddister.

Nedra graduated Ligonier High School in 1935. She married George Stauffer on Dec. 19, 1938, and celebrated over 55 years of marriage. George preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1995.

Nedra is a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was an executive secretary for Miles until her retirement. Nedra loved gardening and enjoyed shopping.

Four generations are left to cherish Nedra's memory, her sons, Rick (Karen) Stauffer and Kent (Sherry) Stauffer; daughter, Sandra Brinson, all of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great- grandchildren. Nedra is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, and three brothers, Harry, Howard and Merle.

The funeral service for Nedra will take place Friday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior to the service at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nedra's name can be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 C.R. 19, Bristol, IN 46507.

I got to see you when I was in town a couple of months ago and when Nick and I came into Sandra´s you saw us and you made us feel special as you always did. God bless you Nedra to the oldest friend I ever had. You will be missed.
