Petro Smediuk Obituary
Petro "Pete" Smediuk, 78, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on Sept. 2, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 6, 1947, in Rhine, Germany, to Paul and Anna (Gudz) Smedziuk.
He is survived by his son, Rick Smediuk of Ligonier; grandson, Blain Michael Smediuk-Dotson; great-grandchildren, Landon and Rayne Dotson; four sisters, Lena Smediuk, Goshen, Maria Smedziuk, Federal Way, Washington, Zenka (Leonard) Edleman, Jacksonville, Florida, and Anna (John) Mason, Houston, Texas; and a brother, Nicholas (Kathleen) Smedziuk of Bristol.
Along with his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patty Ann (Neff) Smediuk, in 2011; daughter Angela Smediuk; and brothers, Paul and Henry Smedziuk.
Pete worked for Skyline Homes Inc. for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a Moose Lodge member for many years.
He loved to ride his bicycle and exercise. He also had a passion for drawing and painting. Pete also loved working on motorcycles in the past.
According to his wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Pete will be laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
