It is with deep sorrow that the daughters of Robert (Bob) Max Baylor announce his passing on Nov. 12, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan, at the age of 83.
Bob was born Oct. 11, 1942, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Robert and Phyllis (Aldendorf) Baylor. Bob graduated from Elkhart Central High School then began working at Elkhart Products Corp., where he worked until his retirement.
Bob married Lynn Marie Schmidtendorff in November 1988 and were married until her passing in 2021. They enjoyed traveling and experiencing new adventures.
Bob was fun and light-hearted with quiet strength who loved his family deeply. Bob loved to reminisce about the days of riding his horses and his passion for steam engine trains. He loved to laugh and make those around him laugh. He enjoyed woodworking, latch hooking and pixel art, making beautiful gifts for his family and friends, always wanting to put a smile on their faces.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Kim (Brad) Shaw of Livonia, Michigan, Kathy (Doug) Knowlton of North Liberty, Indiana, Heather (Jeff) Sibert of Clarksville, Georgia, and Michelle (Mark) Vilmure of Elkhart, Indiana; three sisters, Diane (Alan) Johnson of Sebring, Florida, Patricia (Richard) Roske and Beverly (Michael) Croninger, both of Elkhart, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
You are now at peace, Dad, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love and miss you so much. Your wisdom, guidance and life lessons will stay with us always and our cherished memories we will forever hold close. You were, without a doubt, the Best Dad Ever. Our Legend.
