Robert P. "Bob" Rogers, 77, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, at Riverside Village in Elkhart. He was born Aug. 25, 1948, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Robert H. and Mildred (Costello) Rogers.
Surviving is a daughter, Tamara L. "Tammy" (Todd) Houser of LaFontaine, Indiana; two grandchildren, Donovan Heath and Daphne Heath; three great-granddaughters, Addilynn Fuson, Atreya Sugg and Lyra Suggs, all of Elkhart; as well as a brother, David (Debbie) Rogers of Elkhart; two nieces, four nephews and five great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1967. He loved camping, fishing, chopping wood and feeding and taking care of many ferrel cats. He also loved carpentry and construction and was known as "Carpenter Bob."
Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services and a celebration of life gathering will be held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral on Monday Jan. 5, from 4 to 5 p.m. At 5 p.m., there will be a time for the sharing of memories and stories. Pastor Jack Rorie from The Sanctuary of Osceola will lead the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
