Avelene Hayes Obituary
HAMPTONVILLE — Mrs. Avelene Wagoner Hayes, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Rosewood Assisted Living of Harmony. Mrs. Hayes was born on Sept. 10, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late Rich and Valena Groce Wagoner. She was a lifetime member of Swaims Baptist Church. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ellis Hayes; brother, Larry Wagoner; daughter-in-law, Anne W. Hayes. She is survived by her son, Joel Hayes; granddaughter, Leigh Hayes; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Wagoner, Perry (Karen) Wagoner; sister-in-law, Nancy Wagoner. Her graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Swaims Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3919 Swaims Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Hayes family. Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
