RONDA — Mr. Billy Joe Howell, 75, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014. Mr. Howell was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Wilkes County to Gaither Ford and Hazel Cook Howell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Howell; and sister, Doris Ann Howell. Survivors include his wife, Edna Howell of the home; daughters, Christine Howell Gambill and husband Charles of Wilkesboro, Billie Howell (Jennifer Joy) of Wilkesboro, Beth Howell Minton and husband Jeff of Ronda, Shuley Howell of Elkin, Yeanette Martin and husband Todd of Boonville; adopted daughter, Karen Tilley of Conover; grandchildren, Shontay Minton, Stephen Gambill, Devin Gambill and Dustin Minton; great-grandchild, Raegan Mollie-Ford Minton; very special friend, Jimmy Harris; his best buddy, his dog Buster. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Maple Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Smith and the Rev. Rex Cranfill officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care, 720 Grove St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
