Melissa Lydia Burton Gambill, 69, of Elkin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Surviving is her husband of 42 years, Michael Gambill; mother, Mary Ann Freeman Burton. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, in the cemetery of Union Cross Baptist Church. Her body will lie in state for one hour at Union Cross Baptist Church before the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Union Cross Baptist Church C/O Virginia Stroud 1993 Twin Oaks Road Elkin, NC 28621.
