George W. Rissler passed from this life Monday, April 3, 2017 at 1:39 AM. He passed at home surrounded by his loving family. George was born March 5, 1930 in Casper, Wyoming to Wesley Homer (Bus) and Helen Rissler (Weidman). George went to the little red school house outside of Casper, Wyoming. He started working at the slaughter house with his father at the age of 10. He was proud of the fact that he continued his schooling and graduated while working to help his family. He had 5 children from a previous marriage when he met and married the love of his life, Inez (Smith) in 1960. They had 2 children together. In 1963 they moved to Elko, Nevada where George worked for Sewels (Roy's) for over 40 years. He retired at the age of 78. George was the oldest of 10 children.
George has 3 living sisters, Donna Tanner, Judy Logue and Betty Diedrickson. His children are Helen Rissler Guarisco (Jeff), Steve Rissler (Nina), Marilyn Schuyler (Tom) and Janet (Carroll). His grandchildren are Nathan Lara (Connar), Nicholas Lara (Kelie), Lela Rissler, Sandy Rissler, Crystal Fauver (Odie), Sherri Briggs (Gregg), Laura Brow (Steve), Jacob Rissler, Lucas Rissler, Janet Rost, (Erik), Cynthia Santiago (Cornelia), Billy Schuyler (Katie), Dede Bauck (Scott), Erin Yearicks, Brandon Yearicks, Laura Yearicks. George had 31 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers William Rissler and Richard Rissler, sisters, Patsy Rissler Johnson, Susan Richards, Sharon Rissler Tucker and Linda Rissler and sons George W. Rissler and George E Rissler.
George enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, family and friends. He loved his time spent in Louisiana with his daughter Helen. He enjoyed fishing for red fish in Grand Isle, Louisiana and he enjoyed his yearly family camping trips to the Big Horns in Wyoming. George thoroughly loved being around his great grandchildren, who adored him and loved helping him any way they could.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, April 13, 2017 6 PM-8PM at Burns Funeral Home in Elko, Nevada. Services will be Friday April 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home in Elko, Nevada. Burial will be immediately following the service in Burns Memorial Garden.
