Gloria Clark Obituary
Gloria Dawn (Taylor) Clark, born November 7, 1947, in Delta, Utah, was sent to her eternal home on November 14, 2025. She was 78 years old. She died peacefully in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Hospital from a 52-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Gloria was the beloved daughter of Loren Burgess Taylor and Effie May King. She grew up in Wells, Nevada, alongside her eight siblings. In her free time, she loved riding horses, excelled as a highly awarded barrel racer, and enjoyed many arts and crafts projects. She quilted, sewed, and learned to sing and play the guitar. Gloria graduated from Wells High School in 1965 and later continued her education, earning her cosmetology license.
On July 26, 1969, she married the love of her life, Alan, in Ogden, Utah. One year later, on June 30, 1970, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. At age 26, shortly after the birth of her second child, Stefanie, Gloria was diagnosed with MS. Despite this challenge, she remained dedicated to raising her children and caring for her husband. Providing a joyful and loving home was always her priority. She loved deeply and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her husband, Alan V. Clark; four children: son Travis L. Clark, daughter Stefanie D. (Ron) Covert, son Loren E. Clark, and son Jeremy A. Clark. She has eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren Burgess Taylor and Effie May (King) Taylor; sisters Lorna Housley, Darlene Taylor, and Carma Nicholas; brother James Taylor; and grandchild Sean Michael Wood.
We sincerely thank the wonderful professionals at the University of Utah. Gloria underwent surgery and later hospice care, and throughout it all, her neurosurgeon, nurses, palliative care team, and social workers not only cared for her with great compassion but also ensured that her immediate family had the guidance and information they needed to support her during her end-of-life journey.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Elko Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1651 College Parkway, Elko, NV, at 10:00 a.m. Following the viewing, there will be a processional to the Elko City Cemetery for a graveside service.
