July 14, 1961-March 24, 2018
On July 14, 1961 Lori Tryon, originally Lori Muller, was born in Cañon City, Colorado. She grew up to be fiercely independent, declining seven marriage proposals before marrying her best friend and lifelong partner, Jim Tryon. In October of 1991, they gave birth to their only daughter, Kaylaurie Tryon. Lori was a mom, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, an artist, a seamstress, and a woodworker. Her smile and her laughter were contagious, and nobody could put a lid on her creativity. She had a heart made of gold that was as big as her personality. She was outgoing and could befriend anybody. She adopted friends into her life, and even her closest friend's five daughters, whom she claimed as her granddaughters. She had always wanted to be a grandma because she loved children, but she knew that she would never have her own grandchildren after her terminal cancer diagnosis in 2016. She knew how to create happiness even in the direst of circumstances. She will never be remembered as a victim of cancer. Lori Tryon was never a victim of anything. She took charge of her diagnosis and fulfilled a bucket list with her husband and daughter. In the last two years of her life, she laughed, she loved, and she lived each day like it would be her last. On March 24, 2018 Lori left this world peacefully and gracefully. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Tryon, her daughter of whom she was always proud, Kaylaurie Tryon, her siblings, June, John, Kathy, Becky, Wendy, and her mom June Leibert. She is predeceased by her sister Cindy. Lori will continue to be loved and never forgotten by many that knew her.
