Mary Jean Anderson
January 23, 1945 – November 27, 2021
Mary Jean Anderson passed away suddenly on November 27, 2021. Born in Toole, Utah on January 23, 1945 to Alfred and Vera Eddards, Mary was raised in several small towns dotting Utah and Nevada, and her life shaped at a young age by the loss of her parents. She was raised by her oldest sister and best friend, Carolyn Bradshaw (Buck). This experience left a lasting impression and later toughened her to overcome the loss of a first child, her first grandson, a battle with cancer, and more recently a bout with Covid-19.
Mary was also the foundation of our family. She was genuine, honest, and the person who everyone reached out to for advice or comforting support.
The love of Mary's life was her husband, Roger. Married for more than 60 years, they met in Mexican Hat and married in Blanding, Utah. Roger and Mary did most things together and usually where you found Mary you also found Roger.
She is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Vera Eddards; a son, Scott; her sisters, Carolyn (Buck), Barbara, and Joanie (Ralph); and grandsons Dallas Martin, and Chris Brushe.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; a daughter, two sons, and their spouses: Lisa and Tony of Elko, Nevada; Clay and Lynn of Carlin, Nevada; Erin and Lettie of Reno, Nevada. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Lacy, Levi, Isaac, Jessica, Samantha, and Roger all of Elko, Nevada; Melissa (Jim) of Noxon, Montana; Logan and Dylan of Reno, Nevada; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Based on Mary's wishes, a service will be held later this Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to http://gofund.me/86ba8f51 .This account was established to help pay for e-Sight glasses for her great-grandson's (Ashton Anderson) visual impairment.
