Toshi Oki Obituary
Tosh was born on September 5, 1924 in Gunnison, Utah and passed away on April 30, 2013 in Elko, Nevada. She was the oldest child and only daughter of Komeki and Waki Hoshida. Tosh married Paul Oki on September 15, 1948 and moved to Elko where they raised their two children, Pauline and Jerry. Tosh was a devoted housewife. A self-proclaimed Elko native, she enjoyed her life in Nevada. She was a strong person by nature who wasn't afraid to "tell it like it is."
Tosh was a life-long member of the VFW and enjoyed watching TV, conversing on the phone with friends, and listening to her favorite country western music.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; brother, Ken Hoshida (CA); father and mother. Tosh leaves behind daughter, Pauline (Don Copen) Elko; son, Jerry (Laura) Elko; three grandsons, Greg Hayes, Casper, WY; Chad Oki, Elko, NV, Christopher Oki, Salt Lake City, UT; and great-grandchildren Kaegan and Keileigh Hayes, Madison Preston and Kane Jerry Oki.
The family would like to thank the supportive and nurturing staff of Highland Manor and St. Joseph's Villa. A memorial service will be held at Burns Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m., on Monday May 13, 2013.
