Patrick J. Soreng

Patrick J. Soreng, 81, of Fayetteville, died Monday (Feb. 13, 2017). Mr. Soreng was a native of Chicago, Ill., and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Soreng. He was a grave digger for many years with the Catholic Cemetery Association, where he retired from in 2005. Survivors include his daughters, Linda Diestelow of Petersburg and Jennifer (Glen) Hartzell of Three Rivers, Mich.; son, Wayne Soreng of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Christopher (Caci) Diestelow, Paul (Andrea) Diestelow, Matthew Vogt, Sarah Vogt, Jake Hartzell, and Patrick (Brenda) Soreng; two great-grandchildren; and three siblings. In addition to his parents, Mr. Soreng was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Sanicki Soreng, and two siblings. A celebration of life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, Lewisburg. Visitation with the family will be 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
