Ricky Maddox Obituary

Ricky Joe Maddox, 65, of Fayetteville, died Sunday (July 2, 2017). Ricky was a native of Fayetteville and was born on Jan. 18, 1952 to the late Joe Rowe and Virginia Rochester Maddox. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from Jack Daniels on June 1, 2017 after 36 years of bottling Tennessee Whiskey. Ricky enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Brandy (Chris Banks) Maddox of Huntland; son, Brandon (Ashley) Maddox of Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Matthew Banks, Tyler Banks, Bayleigh Maddox, Easton Maddox and Mackenzie Maddox. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Maddox. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Don Dickey, Bill Cunningham, Stan Golden, Stanley Trentham, Frank Jennings and Raymond Burton serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Kids Hunting for a Cure, 112 Bright Road, Hazel Green, Ala., 35750 or www.kidshuntingforacure.org. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
