Barbara Bajandas Obituary

Barbara Miles Bajandas, 72, went to be with the Lord mid Sunday morning February 24, 2008, at her El Paso home. She was a registered nurse by profession and had a passionate love for family and her many friends. "Aunt Babs" was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 27, 1935 and graduated from New York Medical College Nursing School in 1955. She was a R.N. in New York area hospitals and in El Paso. Early in her career, while working for the Red Cross Blook Bank, she participated in the many studies that lead to the development of Rogam, the injection given to Rh Negative mothers who give birth to a child who is Rh Positive. She is preceded in death by her husband Hernan Bajandas and her parents, John and Vita Miles. She is survived by her brother Philip Miles, MD, his wife Anna-Kari, nieces Anita Miles and Beth Canak and her husband Griffin Canak, of El Paso; and nephew Erik Miles, MD, his wife Marcy, of Davidson, NC. Her grand nieces and nephews include Mallorie, Ryan, Rebecca, Austin, Ethan, and Nicholas. Her numerous friends include collegues within the nursing community and those made by her love and friendships. A special thanks to her closest friends Pat Buchanan and Yvonne Perez and caregivers Gela and Nena. Internment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery along side her parents. She will be dearly missed. She left us "...having a desire to depart and be with Christ" (Phil 1:23).
