El Paso - Bertha Beltran Meraz (Bert, Butties), age 67, was peacefully called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. Born January 12,1953 in El Paso Texas and resided in Anthony New Mexico. She is survived by her loving husband, Rafael Meraz; her adoring daughters, Linda Gonzalez and Darlene Mendez (Frank); sister, Maggie Beltran; and brothers, Francisco Beltran (Elsa) and Ricky Beltran. Bertha also leaves behind 3 beautiful grandchildren, Jacob Mendez, Adan Mendez, and Natalie Mendez and 2 God daughters, Toni Beltran and Shelby Beltran to honor and cherish her memory.

She is preceded by her parents, Juan and Aurora Beltran, her sister Laurie Beltran Lara and brothers, Juan Beltran Jr, and David Beltran.

Special thanks to Dr. Ambrose Aboud, Dr. Rhonda Fleming, Dr. John Taylor and all staff at Altomar NM home health for the many years of the special care they provided.

Even on her toughest days Bertha was always happy with a big smile and a great sense of humor. She loved music, her favorites were Tina Turner and Little Joe y La Familia.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 10:00AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln St. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Anthony, New Mexico. Bertha Beltrán Meraz (Bert, Butties), de 67 años, fue llamada pacíficamente al hogar por nuestro Señor Jesucristo el miércoles 1 de julio del 2020 rodeada de sus familiares y amigos. Nació el 12 de enero de 1953 en El Paso, Texas y residió en Anthony, Nuevo Mexico. Le sobrevive su amado esposo, Rafael Meraz; sus adorables hijas, Linda González y Darlene Méndez (Frank); su hermana Maggie Beltrán y sus hermanos, Francisco Beltrán (Elsa) y Ricky Beltrán. Bertha también deja tres hermosos nietos: Jacob Méndez, Adán Méndez y Natalie Méndez y sus dos ahijadas, Toni Beltrán y Shelby Beltrán para honrar y apreciar su memoria. Le precedieron en muerte sus padres, Juan y Aurora Beltrán y su hermana Laurie Beltrán Lara y sus hermanos, Juan Beltrán Jr. y David Beltrán. Un agradecimiento especial al Dr. Ambrose Aboud, al Dr. Rhonda Fleming, al Dr. John Taylor y a todo el personal de atención médica domiciliaria de Altomar NM por los muchos años de atención especial que brindaron. Incluso en sus días más difíciles, Bertha siempre estaba feliz con una gran sonrisa y un gran sentido del humor. Le encantaba la música, sus favoritos eran Tina Turner y Little Joe y La Familia. El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 7 de julio del 2020 de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con un Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. en Sunset Funeral Homes-West. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo el miércoles 8 de julio del 2020 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Anthony, en el 224 Lincoln St. Se proseguirá con el entierro en el cementerio St. Anthony en Anthony, Nuevo México.
