David Grijalva Obituary

David Samuel Grijalva, 61, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home in San Elizario, Texas. David was preceded in death by his parents Juanita and Jose Grijalva. He is survived by his siblings: Stella Moeller - El Paso; Abraham Grijalva - El Paso; Kathleen Latham - Fairfax, Virginia; Eva Simons - El Paso; and Christine Grijalva - El Paso. David was born on November 16, 1949 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Fabens High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972. The family would like to give thanks to the Veterans Administration for his care during his long illness, and also to all his medical support including Dr. Tarin, Rafael Aguirre, Terry Hammond, and all state and county caregivers who helped David during his time of need. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East with recitation of the Rosary to begin at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 8, 2011 at 12:00 pm at San Elizario Mission. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss Cemetery at 2pm where he will be laid to rest with military honors. David, you will remain in our hearts forever until we meet again in the loving embrace of our Lord. We love you. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel Martin East, 1460 George Dieter.

Mr. Grijalva,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Our sincere condolences and deep heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your brother David.

May the Grace and Peace of the Lord help you endure your loss.

We apologize and are deeply sorry for not attending David's services. Our absence was due to health issues.
