Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

We were friends for many many years in the service and in Europe afterward. I was there in the giddy days of the late 1950's when he and Dolores returned from NM after getting married there. You see, back then, it was illegal for a white man to marry a black woman. Dolores was a phenomenal jazz singer of the highest order and Ed was her biggest fan. And they played jazz and only jazz, but they loved it all.

Ed was all about the Southwest and he was El Paso, he lived it and he loved it. He had a plan to make El Paso a better place, a sophisticated city a city of international stature. He was always helping people solve their problems and he was quick offering words of encouragement. He was a very special person. I will miss him, I will miss my friend.
