ESPERANZA ALBA

1936 - 2015

"Espy", "Lanchy", Esperanza Alba stepped into eternity to be with our Lord and savior on March 25, 2015. She was a fantastic and loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. This amazing woman was born on January 26, 1936 to Ernesto and Flora Alba, the fifth child of 10. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, son, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 grandson. An aspiring and talented singer at an early age, she met and married a musician and was blessed with 2 wonderful sons. Though the marriage ended abruptly, she managed to raise her family alone, working at everything from clothing factories to a construction job. She did anything and everything she could to provide a loving home for her children. "Espy" was the kind of woman whose care and love was overwhelming and pure. She battled cancer and overcame it twice, before succumbing to it a final time. Though she is no longer with us, I assure you she did not lose her battle with cancer. She lived, and lived vibrantly impacting the lives of all those who knew her. The world will no longer be the same without her. We love you Esperanza Alba! You will NEVER be forgotten. Visitation: 5-9pm March 30, at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina, Vigil: 7pm. Scripture Service: 9am March 31, at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Chapel. Interment: Mount Carmel Cemetery.
