A tribute to my dear brother Eddie,
I will miss you everyday of my life, what a brillian mind, what a humble heart. Our bond was stronger than life itself, we both knew how important it is to set yourself aside in order to help shape the future. You shaped and molded minds and strengthened hearts. You inspired so many lives to reach for the sky and be the very best that they could. You gave so much and you never asked for anything in return. You had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room. You brought out the best in me and you encouraged me to become a better teacher. As you rejoice in the presence of the Lord, know that I take comfort knowing you are free of pain and now full of joy. I will miss you every day and I look forward to the day when I can hold you and embrace you agian. Rest in Peace my dear brother. Look after me from heaven, you are now my angel!

Dear Maldonado Family,
I deeply regret your loss. Mr Maldonado was my English teacher two years at Rverside High School. It was awesome being his student! We had so much fun in his class and learned so much. He made the subject so interesting. I visited him a couple of times after my graduation and he always shared the same wonderful smile! It was an honor to have been his student. God Bless you !

Memorial to My Brother Eddie
My condolences and prayers go out to Heriberto’s family. He was a blessing and a Light to all who knew Him. I first met Eddie at Roosevelt elementary school and we soon became fast friends. We attended Guillen Middle School, Bowie High School and UTEP together. His passion for learning inspired all of his friends to excel and demand more of their academic life. Eddie was accomplished in his studies and was successful in Science, Math, History, and his beloved Literature. He was truly a renaissance man. Heriberto played many roles; he was a good Son and a loving Brother. The best friend to his “Babies”. A loving Father to his Son Victor. A passionate teacher of the arts of writing, reading, and thinking, a true follower of Socrates. Eddie was a poet and a musician. A connoisseur of great food and drink. He read comic books, graphic novels, and the Classics. He listened to Vivaldi and Bach, Sublime and Metallica. His range of interests had no bounds. I knew Eddie by many names. In the fantasy worlds we explored he was Gareth, Wynde Ryder, and Keshi D’tilluth. He was a master of games, and more often than not he beat me into submission. From Chess to Video Games, Magic The Gathering and D&D, he played and won more than he ever lost. Eddie was not easily bested. My friend also loved sports and enjoyed playing basketball and golf. I remember playing one-on-one basketball against him in near darkness, and although he wore his glasses and I had perfect vision, he beat me with ease. I knew then that he was blessed with a second sight. Heriberto used this vision to see the potential in his students and to help bring forth all their talent. He would not settle for less. Eddie welcomed me into his home and I lived with him, Manny Chavez, and Ray Valdez on Wonderland street. We had many mad adventures at that house and spent many an evening at the local VFW with the veteranos. Sadly I did not get to share Eddie’s final years and that is my great loss. Although I was not the loyal friend that I should have been in his days of suffering, I will forever declare that he was my brother in Spirit. I miss you Carnal and will Love you always.

To the Family and friends of Eddie,
We wish to share our deepest and sincerest condolences. We know that there are no words that can take the pain and sorrow away from each of you; we know that each of you is to morn in your own way; and we also know that you all must morn. Find a way to morn together, to morn alone, to cry for the sadness that is in your minds and hearts. Yet also find a way to be happy for the good memories that you have and share them with each other. Be there for each other and give each other the support that you need and most importantly turn to God and pray for the repose of Eddie’s soul and ask Him to bless each of you with the strength that you need to see these days through.
We pray for God to be ever-present with each of you in the days to come and for the rest of your lives; we ask Him to help you with and through your grieving and to bless you with the strength that you need; and we ask Him to be merciful with Eddie and each of you.
God bless you,
