In honor of our fallen service men, I wanted to reach out to the Gonzalez family. My daughter plays for "the Bombers' softball team, and in honor of these service men, our organization has jerseys they wear to remember these men. My daughter's jersey has Sgt Jaime Gonzalez, and she wears it to all her games. I am using this site in order to hopefully get in touch with his family members, we would like to give his family her jersey and thank them for the sacrifices that have come from this great serviceman.

Jaime, You are one of the best Soldiers I have ever had the chance to work along side. You were always upbeat and happy. I think of you often. I remember the time we almost got our vehicles stuck in that little village going from Kabul to BAF... when he had to exit the trucks and walk them through the narrow road ways... the same place all the kids ran up to us to get water and see what we were doing there. I remember you getting on one of the bicyles the kids were using to take a picture. Fond memories brother... You will never be forgotten. Til I see you again...

Even after all these years, I still cherish your memory. I will never forget that day in Germany when I first saw your smile and heard your laugh. I am blessed to have met you and serve next to you. I will not say good-bye for I will keep your memory with me always. My blessings and warmest condolences to the Gonzalez family. You are more blessed than all of us who met him for you had him in your family. God bless you.

I served with SGT Gonzalez in Afghanistan in the Winter and Spring of 2008. We went on a couple of missions together. He was a Texan and I had served in El Paso so we talked about El Paso on a couple of missions. I returned Stateside ahead of him, and did not know of his passing. He was a good trooper and I enjoyed serving with him. He will be greatly missed. I posted this picture from a trip we went on to the middle of no where in Afghanistan, he's standing with some Afghan National Policemen. Here's to his family and may his memory live forever.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Jaime, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

To the family and parents of Jamie I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you

Love to a Fallen family,
I am so sorry to hear about another fallen Hero! I know there are no words that I can say to ease your pain! The loss of a child, husband or brother at such a young age is something that is the most difficult thing to bare! I wish there were something I could say that would ease your pain! We can only pray that one day we will be together again. I was told that if you stretch a piece of string a mile long and line that string with beads, the beads would resemble eternity. Life here on earth is equal to “only one bead”. We have only a short time here compared to the time we will spend in eternity with our loved ones. The only thing I can say is let faith keep you grounded in your life and hold on to your loved ones! This will help you through! It is what helps me get through my days. My son, Anthony entered into the Heavens to be with our Lord in 2007. We can never understand the reasons why our loved ones would ever be taken from us. I pray that one day our pain will ease!
God Bless Your Family!

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Sgt. Jaime Gonzalez our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jaime. And to Jaime it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Jaime, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

To the Gonzalez family, I would like to let you know that you are in my prayers during this time of grievance. Jaime and I work at the warehouse on Camp Mabry together and we would talk alot. The one thing I can truly say about him was that he was a family man. He loved his children, at the time his girlfriend to go on to be his wife and family.
