Manases Carrasco Memoriam

In Loving Memory Of

Manases Ain Carrasco

March 2, 1975 - October 25, 2018

We never knew how well-known your

smile was until you were gone.

You were born to Joe and Linda Carrasco

in El Paso, TX. The first born son.

Manases Ain, was the name chosen, long before you were born. Manases is from Genesis 41.51: "because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household." Mom had come out of a difficult family situation and your coming heralded forgiving, forgetting, and moving forward.

Ain is from Josue 19.7. One of the sons of Joshua. Mom chose that middle name because it went very well with Manases and your initials would be MAC, the name Mom called you.

Your great big smile and boisterous laugh made those who saw you want to smile too. There was an air of sadness when that part of you was not there.

Today is your birthday and we know you celebrate in the best place that can be. We remain happy and hopeful about your days and know we will see you again, but our flesh drags us back to sad and missing you causes tears to fall.

Two years ago, when you knew the battle was almost over, it was inspiring to your family to watch your courage. In the three weeks you had left, you were kind. You accepted that death was coming. You took responsibility and made amends so things would not be left unsaid. You made sure your love was made known.

We watched when people came in to see you from different areas where you once had lived and worked. Hundreds of calls, messages and texts poured in. Friends from high school, college and all the jobs you had all over the world expressed their love. You took your last breath in an Arlington, Texas Hospital.

But the messages and calls didn't stop; they still don't. We still get messages saying, "I was thinking about him today" or "I sure miss his smile." OH! Your smile! We found out we were not the only ones who loved you and your smile, but we never realized how famous it was.

To some you were Manny, to others Tito, to some Ses…but to us, you will always be remembered as our beloved son and brother. The one with that great, big, beautiful smile.

We miss you greatly. We wish you were here and we could hear your laugh or listen to some of the eclectic music you always had playing. There are moments when you are thought of daily, and we cherish memories of you.

Manny, my brother. I´m at a VW car show that´s been traveling across Texas on highway 67 and they made their way to the place I call home, Presidio, TX. This is their last stop before heading home. I couldn´t help but think of you and had to look you up once more. I´m happy I came across your beautiful life story, brother. Ride easy, my friend, and scouts honor.
