I just recently happened to locate a pillow Martha made for me when we lived on Cape Cod and decided to look her up. I worked with her at the Homeport Restaurant in Orleans and at the Sun at the Gristmill in Eastham.( I'm looking for Sun menu) I was saddened to learn of her passing. We had a lot of fun in those days! My belated sympathy to her family.

I want to pay my respects to Martha and offer my deepest condolences to her family. I was actually the first person she hired at the Sun and remember those years with such fondness. Martha was a great boss. She was hard-working, upbeat and creative, and a big inspiration to me and many others. I feel very fortunate to have known her and worked for her many years ago -- even as a young woman, Martha was such an exceptional person.

Martha will always be central to my Smith memories and hold a place in my heart. I regret that the distance between Texas and New York kept us from making still more memories, but I will never forget you. My love to Peter who I last saw as a toddler, and to Martha's mother and sisters who I last saw on graduation/wedding day.

Knew Martha in high school and reconnected at our 30th reunion. She had recently become a nurse, I believe and was so excited and enthusiastic about her new profession. What a blessing she must have been to her patients. I will always remember her warm smile and her distinctive voice. God bless you, Martha and peace to your family in this most difficult of times.

Martha,
I never knew until today that you had left and are now in god's kingdom. I was so blessed to have been touched by you, a loving, caring and very humble nurse. I was a patient of yours and your positive attitude and smile are just small attributes of many that you possessed. You are in angel in heaven. I still can't believe it. ... may you rest in peace.

Martha's passing has left a great void in the lives of so many - her family, friends, co-workers, and patients. Last year I was going through treatments for cancer. It was truly a blessing to have Martha for my oncology nurse! She was a lovely person who genuinely cared and had a heart for others. Her smile and laughter were contagious and she was always so cheerful and perky - you couldn't help but be cheered even if you were feeling low. I was so shocked and saddened to see the news of her passing in the obituaries and I have shed so many tears because she will be sorely missed. My condolences to her family, especially her son. Even in our grief, we can rejoice in knowing she is in Heaven with her Heavenly Father and his Son. Her spirit of love will continue throughout eternity. Martha - we will miss you so much!

Mrs. Martha, it is so hard for me to accept that you are gone. Such a beautiful spirit and wonderful mentor that you were. I thank you for being there for me through my difficult times, as you did for everyone else. You showed me to keep my head up no matter how hard things became. Your laugh, your smile always lifted everyone's spirits around you. I will never forget how positive and strong you were, no matter how hard things were for you at times. But you never gave up and you always kept your smile. Martha, I will be graduating soon, and I hope you know that it was you who truly inspired me and I will never forget you. I just pray that the good Lord blesses me with your genuine and unique passion with my patients, so that I will be one of the great ones as you were. I LOVE YOU MISS MARTHA and Thank you......

My Dearest Martha,
WE are all going to miss you so much. You touched my life with your love and kindness. YOu were put on this earth to help others and you were great at it and now I know that you will also serve well in HEAVEN. Thru difficult times you helped me. You were always there for me. I went to see you at the Specialty Hospital and I cried seeing you in that way. I love you and will miss you. Thank you Peter for taking my calls and giving me updates on your Mom.

I never met you personally, but when I was waiting in the lobby to be called, you would come and call the patients name and I wondered which doctor's nurse you were. You always looked bubbly, cheerful and friendly. One day I asked the receptionist who you were and she said it was Martha. I was saddened later when I found out about the sickness and the passing on to Heaven.

I first met Martha when my dad became a patient of Dr Chesbro. I first saw her when my mom went for radiation treatments. Martha would enter the waiting area to call in a patient but she would greet everyone.. She always had a smile and cheerful word. My dad was the first to notice and it brought him comfort when he himself became a cancer patient. Martha was as deeply saddened to learn of his passing as I was to learn of hers.
In our life many people come and go. Those who leave a deep impression in life, leave a deeper one in passing. God bless Martha, may your kindred spirit live on forever.

Martha always will be a breath of fresh air. I never saw you work at being happy, funny, positive or giving. You brough smiles and laughter to our clinic, to our lives. You brought joy, hope and promise to our patients. You smiled when all was dark, laughed when tears were rolling and let your peaceful, wonderful, caring spirit comfort and help those that needed it the most. You are an inspiration to Nurses all over. Your an inspiration to me. Miss you, your friend always..

Martha, one of the last times I saw you, you blessed me with the encouragement that I needed to face a new chapter in my life. I wrote you a note to tell you what I couldn't say in person ~ you were so suited for your God given profession, you genuinely cared about every human being that you came in touch with. How I regret not having being a part of the “Wall of Fame” when you asked me. Guess I wasn't ready to do what you did so well…lived life to the fullest! Until we meet again.

Martha was a Godsend to me and my family during my Mother in Laws courageous battle with cancer. She was the guiding and calming voice at the other end of the line and the smiling encourager when you were in her presence. Her spirit was one of the most beautiful I have ever witnessed. She will be sorely missed. They say there are angels among us...she was surely one of them. Our condolences to her family. She always spoke of them with such love. With deepest condolences, Phil and Debbie Cordova
