NAZRY ABRAHAM

Nazry Abraham, 85, passed away on June 23, 2013. He was born on February 16, 1928 in Ciudad Juárez to Syrian/Lebanese parents who eventually immigrated to the United States. A graduate of El Paso High School in 1945, he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University, Class of 1949. He was an active reservist in the U.S. Army for two years from 1950 to 1952 and had an honorable discharge. Nazry was an avid bowler and hand ball player for many years. He was the consummate gung-ho Aggie and truly had the spirit of Aggieland. Nazry Abraham was previously the owner of Empire Mattress Co. and Oriental Furniture Co. He worked the last eighteen years as a security guard for Securitas Security Services. He was a kind and gentle man. Nazry is survived by his son, Wayne Abraham; daughter, Madelyn (Alex) Shaheen; daughter, Sharon (Luis) Melendez; daughter, Elizabeth (Mark) Daw; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July, 21, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Michelino's Italian Restaurant. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rebecca Stafford and the medical team at Providence Hospital for their excellent care of Nazry. Also, thanks to the staff of Trisun Care Center for their kind and thoughtful service in providing care and compassion in his final days.
