Perla G. Velasquez

March 10, 31 - June 25, 21

Perla died peacefully on June 25, 2021, at the age of 90. Perla was born in El Paso, Tx. She graduated from Bowie HS in 1949. She married Victor M. Velasquez Sr., moved to Oceanside, Ca via the US Marines, and had 3 children: Victor Jr., Michael, and Veronica. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered with Brother Benno. She was an active member with the American G. I. Forum. She helped open the JCPenney's in Carlsbad, CA and retired after 42 years. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling until her early 70s. She was a loyal San Diego Padres fan. She lived her life to the fullest and was the life of the party. Internment will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 10:30am.




Perla G. Velásquez nació el 10 de marzo de 1931 y falleció pacíficamente el 25 de junio del 2021 a la edad de 90 años. Nació en El Paso, TX. Se graduó de Bowie High School en 1949. Se casó con Víctor M. Velásquez Sr., se mudó a Oceanside, CA a través de los Marines de Estados Unidos, y tuvo tres hijos: Victor Jr., Michael y Verónica. Fue una católica devota y se ofreció como voluntaria con el Hermano Benno. Fue miembro activo del American G. I. Forum. Ayudó a abrir JCPenney en Carlsbad, CA y se jubiló después de 42 años de trabajo. Disfrutó jugando sóftbol y bolos hasta principios de los años 70. Fue una fiel fanática de los Padres de San Diego. Vivió su vida al máximo y fue el alma de la fiesta. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio nacional de Fort Bliss, en el 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906, el jueves 22 de julio del 2021 a las 10:30 a.m.
