Peter Rizk Obituary

PETER RIZK passed away on July 13, 2008 at the age of 85. Mr. Rizk was devoted to his church, family and garden in which he worked tirelessly and was the owner of Pete's Dry Goods. He lived by example showing respect and dignity to everyone and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Peter Rizk, daughter Sadie Rizk. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Skiyee Rizk, son Dr. George Rizk and wife Latife, daughters Rose Samore and husband Ron, Laila Ferris and husband Paul. He is also survived by his brother Paul Rizk, sisters Rose Ghanayem, Dalel Rizk, Maria Ghanayem and his 11 loving grandchildren; Peter Samore, Valerie Haddad and husband Michael Haddad, Ronald Samore Jr., Christina Samore, Paul Ferris Jr., Christopher Ferris, Lauren Ferris, Mary Rizk, Elizabeth Rizk, George Peter Rizk and Anna Marie Rizk. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Trisagion Service at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 120 N. Festival, with Rev. Fr. Bob Bethoney officiating. Pallbearers will be Peter Samore, Ron Samore Jr., Paul Ferris Jr., Christopher Ferris, Michael Haddad, Dale Nasser Jr., Daniel Nasser, Dr. Muneer Assi, Dr. Eddie Assi, Geoffrey Borschow, Dr. David Rizk and Joseph Sayklay. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Peter Rizk, Dale Nasser Sr., Albert Dayoub, Tony Dayoub, George Aziz and Ramsey Esper. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 120 N. Festival, El Paso, TX 79912. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 8700 Dyer. Service entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912

My Condolences to the family!

Uncle was a special man. What a wonderful family member and friend to so many of us who knew and loved him. He was a very kind and generous person. I am so sorry for your family’s loss but may you find comfort in your beliefs and know that he is smiling down on all of you.

We were saddened to hear of Pete's passing. We deeply regret we were unable to be there to comfort you, for Alice and I are in Scottsdale with Lisa when we were notified. Pete was truly a good man, was always there for us and he will be missed as a pillar of this community and our Church. May his memory be Eternal.
