I met Richie back in 1962 while attending Bel Air High with his sister, Norma. I remember him as a fun-loving, gentle soul. Wearing his ever present welcoming smile, Richie would entertain with full-on barbecues, beer & live music. Never did I feel unwelcome in his home. He and Yolie would place their trust in Norma and me to baby-sit the boys so that they might have a night out. With an abundance of pride, he would line the boys up and introduce them. Richie was a strong man, through and through. He bore the brunt of military warfare without whining nor complaining. I will always respect his ability to withstand life's blows and continue the fight. Rest in Peace, Brother. We will see you when The Almighty comes "to judge the living and the dead".
