ROBERT ABBOTT

Robert Charles Abbott, 67, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in El Paso, TX. Bob was born in Buffalo, NY on September 13, 1948 to Luman and Eileen Abbott. While stationed at Ft. Bliss he met Petra Martinez and they were married on December 4, 1971. After a brief return to Buffalo, Bob and Petra moved back to El Paso in 1975 and Bob returned to his military calling by joining the Army National Guard and working at the Armory on Hondo Pass. He retired from the US Army on August 31, 1994 and opened up his own Home Healthcare Business. He ran his business for 12 years. Preceded by his brother William. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Petra, son Robert C Abbott Jr., and daughter Dominique Abbott Lutz; grandchildren; Robert C. Abbott III, Brandon M. Lutz, Darren I. Abbott, and Alyssa E. Abbott. Also survived by two brothers; Richard and Donald and sisters Betty and Diane. Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 28, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service arranged by San Jose Funeral Home-East (915) 590-8700. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or Faith Presbyterian Church, El Paso.
