Alice Pondrom Obituary
Alice, daughter of the late Lloyd Edward Lofting and wife Elnora Alverta, was born May 26, 1950, in Bonne Terre. She grew up in St. Clair, and graduated from St. Clair High School, Class of 1968. Alice was united in marriage to Gary Pondrom Sept. 8, 1973, in St. Clair. They were blessed with three children, Rachel, Aaron and Sarah, and together they raised their family in Sullivan. Alice will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Pondrom, Sullivan; three children, Rachel Steinkiste (Scott Adams), Sullivan, Aaron Pondrom (Ann), Dixon, and Sarah Reid, Jefferson City; one brother and four sisters, Michael Lofting (Pat), Kingman, Ariz., Ann Nathan, Sarasota, Fla., Mary Poteat, Rolla, Vickie Owenby and Gretchen Vollmer (John), all of Florissant; five grandchildren, Emma Steinkiste, Hannah and Lauren Reid, Isabella and Carter Pondrom; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Edward and Elnora Alverta, nee Edwards, Lofting, and three infant grandchildren, Olivia Reid, Madeline Reid and Isaac Pondrom.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Episcopal Church of St. John & St. James, Sullivan. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Carol Wesley and Chaplain John Essary officiating.
Inurnment will follow the service in I.O.O.F. Columbarium, Sullivan. A reception will take place following the inurnment at 7T Farms, 81 East Bacon Ridge Road, Sullivan, MO 63080.
