Brian Hasten Obituary
Brian "Keith" Hasten, 59, Union, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Keith was born Dec. 9, 1964, in St. Louis, MO, to Harley and Judy (nee Edwards) Hasten. He grew up in the St. Louis area and graduated from Pattonville High School in 1983. Shortly after graduating high school, Keith began working for KB Countertops. He enjoyed a successful career with the company as a carpenter, laminator, and installer for many years until his declining health forced him to retire in 2024 after 41 years of dedicated service.
Keith was united in marriage to Tracy Bierbaum on Sept. 13, 2018, in St. Clair, MO. The couple made their home in Union, and Keith was blessed with 4 stepchildren and nine stepgrandchildren through their union. Keith and Tracy shared many beautiful memories for seven years. Keith often told his friends and loved ones that the last seven years were the happiest time of his life.
Keith had a loving heart and gentle soul. He was protective of those he cared for and would do anything he could to help a family member, friend, or even a complete stranger in need of assistance. He was also a huge animal lover, he loved going on motorcycle rides on his Harley Davidson, and he adored his stepchildren and step-grandchildren. Keith's battle with pancreatic cancer was not easy, but he found comfort in knowing that he had an army of friends and family members by his side praying for him. He was a member of Crossville Southern Baptist Church in Bunker, MO, and a member of the Crossville Cemetery Board. Keith was also a member of Missouri Scalers and a former member of Ruffneck Resistance Regulated Motorcycle Militia.
The Hasten family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the wonderful, caring staff at Heartland Hospice for their tireless dedication to Keith's comfort and peaceful passing. They would also like to thank Keith's primary care physician, Dr. Joi Irving, for her compassionate care for Keith in his final months and Keith's cousin, Donnie, for staying by Keith's side during his final week, along with the care provided by his loving wife.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Harley Wayne Hasten Sr.; his mother-in-law, Betty Bierbaum; special uncle, Roy Kay; and many other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Hasten (nee Bierbaum), of Union; his mother, Judy Hasten (nee Edwards), of Washington; one brother, Harley "Wayne" Hasten Jr., of St. Louis; stepson, Tyler Copeland and wife Kahori, of Cyprus; three stepdaughters: Ashlee Robinette and husband Seth, of Virginia, Stephanie Rampani and husband Jeff, and Brittany Bellamy and husband Zach, all of Union; nine stepgrandchildren: Hunter, Landon, and Wyatt Robinette, Charlotte Rampani, Cooper, Allison, Owen, and Cole Bellamy, and Jack Copeland; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with a funeral service immediately following at the funeral home with Chaplain Dean Hollenbeck officiating. A potluck luncheon followed services at the American Legion, Union.
Interment will be held privately.
