Danny Diesel Obituary

Danny Kay Diesel, 79, of St. Clair, Missouri, departed this life in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Danny was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on Feb. 16, 1945, son of Elmer Diesel and Dorothy Diesel, nee Kirstine. On May 20, 1974, he was united in marriage to Judy Ann Williams and he was a very loving and caring dad to her three sons. This past year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Danny lived most of his life in St. Clair, Missouri. He was a Christian and member of Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in St. Clair. During his working career, he was employed as an iron worker, working primarily through the union hall of Iron Workers Local 396 in St. Louis, which he was a proud member of for many years. Danny was a previous member of Masonic Lodge 363 in Robertsville, Missouri, and a member of Easter Lodge 575 AF & AM in St. Clair. Fall was his favorite time of the year, and he enjoyed traveling to view the fall foliage. In the spring he would mushroom hunt and had found many through the years. He enjoyed making baskets and learned the trade from Harvey Hafley on Indian Creek. He also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, and when he had his beagles, he would hunt rabbits. Danny enjoyed traveling to find covered bridges and going up in lighthouses until he no longer could. He was an avid reader who enjoyed reading Louis L?amour westerns and going to the movies. What meant most to him was time spent with family and friends. His children and grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, as he did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

Danny is survived by his wife, Judy Diesel, of St. Clair; his sons, Michael Tourville and Kevin Tourville, both of St. Clair, Missouri, and Jeff Tourville and wife Jessica, of Wentzville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Emily Wilson and husband Josh, of Union, Missouri, Jenna Meyer and husband David, of Gerald, Missouri, Jordan Cain and husband Jessie, of St. Louis, Missouri, Haley Frey, of Wentzville, Missouri, Blake Tourville and fiancee Sierra Rodgers, of Troy, Missouri, and Caden Frey, of Wentzville, Missouri; his great-grandchildren, Caiden, Addalee, Mari, Mckenzie, Jace, Aubree, Kyler, Brayden, Haisley and Maddie; his sister-in-law, Edna Roller and husband Raymond, of St. Clair, Missouri; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy Diesel, and by his four siblings.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Pastor Duke West officiating.

Interment was at Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.

Memorials may be made to Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, St. Clair.
