Donald Nash Obituary

Donald "Doc" Nash, 80, Beaufort, passed into heaven, Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Doc was born in Gladden to Hattie Mae (Watson) Nash and Wilbur Nash. He spent much of his working life at the Amexlead Mines where he served as president of the union. He later worked for Dorothy Stumpe and put his God-given mechanical abilities to use maintaining rental properties.

Doc was united in marriage to Theresa Sampson in Beaufort in 1999. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Leslie. Doc loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for NASCAR racing and collected Dale Earnhardt memorabilia. He also enjoyed woodworking and could repair almost anything.

It was later in his life that Doc was met with perhaps his most difficult challenge. With the endless support of family and friends, and through the counsel of Josh Keezer, Charles Weiss, Stephen Snodgrass and Jonathan Potts, Doc eventually prevailed and his peace was ultimately restored.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Nash, Beaufort; one daughter, Diane Nash Kelly and husband Darryll, Chatham, Illinois; two sons, Glen Camden and wife Jessica, Austin, Texas, and Billy Camden, Sullivan; one sister, Sue Ellsworth, Gerald; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Doc was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Hattie Nash; five brothers, Roy Nash, Junior Nash, Fred Nash, Jerry Nash and Kenny Nash; one sister, Betty Nash Gibbs; and one grandson, Joshua Camden.

A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Leslie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Midwest Innocence Project (themip.org), are preferred.

Arrangements were in care of Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
